STARGATE "Children of the Gods" TEASER FADE IN: EXT. COLORADO MOUNTAIN AIRFORCE FACILITY -- TO ESTABLISH - NIGHT A large opening in the side of a mountain is under light military guard. But there is very little activity. One gets the feeling this facility is mostly out of use. INT. GATE ROOM - NIGHT A large three story windowless bunker made entirely of reinforced concrete and steel. Towering two stories above the floor, in the center of the room, is a massive disk shaped object covered in large drab tarps. A wide ramp leads up to the object. Those who have seen the movie will recognize this as the room which housed the Stargate and realize that the under the tarp is probably the Stargate itseif. Those who didn't see the movie will soon leam... . The camera moves from the 6bject., across the room to a folding table surrounded by six Air Force guards, four men and two women, playing a game of poker. Along the wall lean six Air Force issue M-16s. If an officer walked in, these soldiers would be in deep shit. GUARD 1 (dealing the cards) ...King gets a queen - possible straight. Eight gets another eight. And Jack gets a boss. Eights open. Guard 3, a new female recruit, a good ten years younger than any of the others, keeps glancing over at the heavily fortified door. GUARD 3 Aren't you guys worried some officer is gonna come in here and nail our butts to the wall? GUARD 2 Trust me, nobody ever comes down here. Hell, I thought they forgot we were even here until they replaced Andy with you. ANGLE - THE OBJECT ...which starts to VIBRATE slightly under its tarp... like an engine that's blown a gasket. STARGATE FIRST DRAFT 10/18/96 ~ CONTINUED: BACK TO SOLDIERS Guard 3 glances over at the gate, sensing the vibration but unsure. She looks to the others... GUARD 3 What is this thing we're guarding anyway? GUARD 1 the hell outta me. GUARD 3 None of you ever looked under the tarps? GUARD 2 Did once. Still beats the hell outta me. It's some big metal ring. What ever it is, the guys in Washington obviously dont"t about it no more. Just another outdated project probably. . GUARD 1 Or another failed one. - GUARD 3 ; . Does it look like it's moving to you guys? The others laugh. GUARD 2 If you don't have the straight just fold, lady. Guard 3 stands and walks toward the gate, attracted by the slight vibration. She walks up the ramp slowly. GUARD 1 Can we take that as a fold? Guard 3 stops right beside the gate and lifts the tarp to look under it. She quickly drops the tarp and BACKS DOWN THE RAMP... GUARD 3 Jesus Christ!!! The whole room begins to rumble more as the others turn and look at... THE OBJECT as suddenly the tarps all FLY OFF IT, into the walls. Their absence reveals that the object is, indeed, THE STARGATE ~ ) 1! The inside wheel is turning, faster and and faster. As the room starts shaking more and more... (CONTINUED)

FIRST DRAFT 10/18/96 O CONTINUED: THE GUARDS... Scramble to their feet and grab their M-16s. Guard 3 runs over and joins them... GUARD 3 (CONTD) [ take it this never happened before... GUARD 2 Uh-uh. Guard 2 grabs a red phone on the wall. The room is now shaking violently like a 7.3 earthquake and the noise is deafening. GUARD 2 (CONTD) (into phone) This is Lower 3G. We need some back up down here. This thing just... Then KAWOOSH!!!!! A HUGE FUNNEL of water-like quantum particles BLASTS into the room. The soldiers all scatter, taking cover, hitting the deck. The tip of the furinel STOPS TWO INCHES from Guard 2's frozen face! He drops the phone and hits the deck. - funnel then retracts, funneling through the back of the gate, then it levels off, forming a shimmering surface inside the circumference of the gate. It looks like the surface of a pool of water turned on its side. It's really quite beautiful, yet for some reason it causes an uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach. After a beat: GUARD 1 Anybody got any ideas? GUARD 2 How 'bout, we get the hell out of here? But Guard 3 seems to be entranced with the gate. She stands and slowly walks toward it, up the long ramp that leads to the opening. GUARD 2 (CONTD) ‘What the heli're you doing? But Guard 3 doesn't answer. She just keeps approaching the shimmering opening, slowly, curious. Finally she reaches the gate and stands about a foot from it... when suddenly... SOMETHING GRABS HER!! A humanoid figure, at least seven feet tall, heavily armored, with a black metal helmet that looks like @ SERPENTS head, has stepped through the gate and grabbed Guard 3 from behind, disarming her and using her as a shield. Five more aliens stumble out of the shimmering gate, each dressed in the same armor. All five Serpent Guards carry six foot staffs with bulbous ends. (CONTINUED)

His extremely muscular body shows beneath a glistening gold breast very ornate, heavily bej ewelled His head is by a glistening gold helmet in the form of a snake's head with jewels as eyes. The way the others shield him, he's obviously their leader. We will come to know this creature as APEP, "THE SERPENT GOD." As soon as Apep is through the Gate it shuts down and discharges its energy. There is a long silent, tense moment as we stare at them, and they stare at us... As if to break the silence, Apep's heimet FOLDS [INTO ITSELF (f/x), eventually retreating into his collar. Now we get a good look at the man dark skinned, strikingly perfect, eternaily young, without biemish, almost pretty. Every rippling muscle glistens like a painting of the ideal maie.
